Echoes of Agatha

Our devising term starts with a broad theme for ensembles to research, develop and create from. This year the Young Company was inspired by the life and works of Agatha Christie, exploring themes of murder, mystery and melodrama, in the year which marks the 50th anniversary of her death.

From their work, Lucy Dennis-Morrell has originated four new short plays:

Murder Not Yet Written
Reeling from her husband’s illicit affair, a celebrated British author escapes to the solitude of Yorkshire to begin her next masterpiece. But the quiet retreat soon unravels as she is pulled into three unsettling cold cases.

Murder at the Matinee
Opening night at Thorn Studio Theatre’s new season has finally arrived. The stage is set, and the company has secured the acting world’s brightest rising star, Alexander Collins. But as the curtain prepares to rise, will everything go to plan—or is something darker lurking behind the scenes?
