Production Technician
The Rose Theatre is recruiting for a Production Technician to join our busy Technical team.
The Rose has established itself as one of the most exciting Producing theatres in London and the UK. We are listed in the Stage 100 for 2026 and received an Olivier award for our recent co-production of The Boy at the Back of The Class. Other recent work includes Our Town (co-produced with Welsh National theatre) and Marie and Rosetta (which transferred into the West End). Our mission is to entertain audiences, elevate artists, and empower our community.
The space is very open with 762 seats and a wide ‘lozenge’ shaped stage. The grid extends over the stage and auditorium at some 9m high with 3 levels FoH.
There is a workshop onsite with basic making facilities for stage and maintenance areas for LX and sound. The lighting rig consists of 30 Martin Viper XiPs with generic fixtures alongside.
The Production Technician is a key part of the Production and Technical team, responsible for delivering all productions on the ground. They shall use their skills and experience to provide first class support to ensure that the various technical needs for each production are met.

Casual Technicians
We're looking for new Casual Technicians to join us at the Rose for our upcoming programme of original productions, touring shows, live music, comedians and community events. We are looking for skilled Technicians to work alongside our in-house team. Professional experience and working knowledge of technical skills are essential.

- Your preferred email address for being notified of shifts.
- Any preferences in your availability e.g. “I work Mon-Fri so would only be available evenings/weekends”

Applicants must be aged 18 or over. We are unable to offer work experience placements backstage at this time
We are able to offer TMA on get-outs, and get-outs are first refusal to those crew who did the get-in for that show. It is PAYE and £12.48 per hour. We are also able to offer National Insurance contributions and holiday accrual for casual techs. Any work after 8 hours becomes time and a half. Sundays and Bank Holidays are double pay.

Volunteer Chaperones
Another way to get involved is to become a Volunteer Chaperone, who play an important role safeguarding young people in rehearsals and backstage.
