Create in Three Days
Ages 7-11 | Years 3-6
Our courses are full of fun drama based activities, crafts, exercises and skills. Small groups will work with a Rose Youth Theatre director and assistant for three days and create a short piece of theatre to be shared with families on the final day.
This course is all about meeting new people, creating imaginative stories, learning drama and performance skills and having fun! All staff on site will have a DBS certificate and there will be a first aider on site at all times.
Play in a Week
Ages 11-18 | Year 7-13
We are offering an exciting, inclusive and intensive performance-based course. You will spend a wonderful week working with a group of like-minded young actors and our team of fantastic professional directors. Groups are split by age, and each group will work with their director to create a scripted production to be watched by family at the end of the week.
During the course you will have the chance to meet new people, take on challenging direction, gain experience and learn new skills.
Testimonials
The week was run really well, my son really enjoyed the whole process and the performance. Parent, Play in a Week 2025
Every day, my child came home excited about what they'd done that day and focused on learning their lines. The week provided a lot of structure and was stretching, but it seemed to have enjoyment stitched in throughout. Parent, Play in a Week 2025

My child loved the whole experience. The children seemed to be grouped well based on age and appeared to have the opportunity to be really creative in their own pieces. They loved the opportunity to make their own props and it was great to see them all performing together at the end. Parent, Create in Three Days 2025
My children loved the creativity of creating their own story and script. Parent, Create in Three Days 2024
We really appreciated the approach that the children create everything themselves. It doesn’t get more creative than that. Parent, Create in Three Days 2023
Frequently Asked Questions
How does booking work?
You will be able to book and pay for your course via the Rose Theatre website, when booking opens. In your confirmation email you will then be asked to provide further information via a google form. We require this form before the course begins, as this will be how we collect emergency contact and safeguarding details for your young person.
Can I request a particular group?
We are happy to place students in a group with their friends or siblings if requested upon sign up. If you would like your child to be placed in the same/different group as a friend or sibling, please put this in the "Any Other Info" section of the google form.
When do courses run?
Our Play in a Week course runs Monday to Saturday for all ages. Performances take place on Saturdays in the early afternoon or evening depending on your group. We will contact you with your group and performance times one week before the start of your course. Group allocations are arranged by age and typically Group A is the younger range performing at the matinee show, Group B is the older performing in the evening. We are not able to take allocation requests after groups are assigned.
If you are unable to make a certain performance slot on the Saturday due to another commitment, please specify this in the “Any Other Info'' section of the google form.
Our Create in Three Days course runs Wednesday to Friday. Due to limited space at the Rose Theatre, this course takes place at a local external venue. Once your booking is confirmed, we will split up the groups and contact you with your group, venue and showing times in due course.
Group allocations are arranged by age and typically we run two groups arranged by youngest to oldest. We are not able to take allocation requests after groups are assigned.
