DE / RE CONSTRUCTION is an exploration of emotions, identity, and dialogue through a series of workshops with Creative Youth and Mind, culminating in a free exhibition at the Rose Theatre.

Presenting the work of local young people aged 12 – 25 to the public, inviting them to reflect on the layers of symbols we associate with ourselves and our place in the world.

The work is on display in the Rose Theatre Cafe. The Rose Café’s regular opening hours are from 10am to 3pm, Tuesday to Saturday, and during performances.

Creative Youth have been running Mindful Art Sessions, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and in collaboration with Mind, for 3 years. Through weekly visual art workshops at FUSEBOX and Kingston Library, we create a space for young people aged 12 – 25 to unwind, explore their creativity, and focus on wellbeing.

Together, we safely delve into questions about who they are and what is important to them, providing a time and place for them to express themselves. Over the years young people have worked with a variety of artists and been able to explore many mediums, such as linoprinting, painting, painting and collage. We believe that creativity is essential for young people’s wellbeing and are excited to showcase their work to an audience.
